But in the military, scribes are trusted for their vital responsibility to accuracy and communication. And historically, scribes were the keepers of knowledge: interpreting, preserving, & protecting information with the utmost care.
At Scribe General Contracting & Consulting, Kirk Mattson brings a military discipline to his love of building. Steph brings organization to the chaos of construction.
As a husband & wife duo, together with our small team & trusted tradesmen, we take on custom homes & renovations throughout the Monadnock Region of NH – and we do it with professionalism, genuine care, and a bit of working man’s grit.
As a veteran-owned business led by a master craftsman, no other name would do.

It took 3 years to convince Steph to quit her job in education to join me in 2019, and within weeks, things were noticeably more organized (which I’ll admit was necessary).

She’s a woman with a vision and plan to make it happen, so that’s good news for you and me both, don’t you think?
ABOUT STEPH MATTSON
When Kirk left the Marine Corps and started working in construction, I had a feeling that he’d have trouble leaving his rank behind. He naturally wants to lead and can’t stand seeing corners be cut. So it wasn’t an if he’d start his own business but a when.
He’d rather be knee-deep in a build than sitting in the office (truly, getting him in front of a computer is a negotiation), but that’s because it’s where he’s at his best: fussing over details, solving problems, creating from scratch.
If there’s a better way to do something, he’ll find it. If there isn’t, he’ll build one.
